Frequently asked
Six honest answers.
Why is the free tier really free?+
A parent without resources should not be the only one carrying all of this in their head. The Free tier is a real Parachute, not a teaser. The Provider and Enterprise tiers cover the cost so a family never has to choose.
Who owns my Parachute if I stop paying?+
You. Always. If you cancel, your Parachute reverts to the Free tier. Your routines, your contacts, your notes, your audit history all stay where they are. Nothing is held hostage. Cancellation is exit, not deletion.
What is the Legacy Trigger and how does it work?+
The Legacy Trigger transfers ownership of a Parachute upon a designated event, typically a parent's incapacity or death. You name a successor, you set the conditions, the trigger executes. The plan continues, even when you cannot. Available on Family Plus and above.
Can a Provider account see what is inside my family's Parachute?+
No. A Provider account sees only what the family chooses to share, scoped to the staff actively assigned to that individual. The family is the principal. Provider access is downstream of family consent and revocable at any time.
Is Parachute HIPAA compliant?+
Parachute is operated as a system that handles protected health information from day one. Encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, role-based access, breach notification protocols. We sign Business Associate Agreements with Provider and Enterprise customers.
How is Parachute different from Therap or CentralReach?+
Those tools are agency software, owned by agencies, designed for compliance. Parachute is family software, owned by the family, designed for understanding. We integrate with Therap and CentralReach where they exist. The difference is who holds the master key.
